Our History

The Asaf Jahi dynasty, known as the Nizams, was founded by Mir Qamar-ud-Din Khan, Asaf Jah I, who declared independence from the Mughal Empire and established his rule in Hyderabad.

The Nizams were known for their luxurious lifestyle, and this was reflected in their food, which combined elements from Persian, Mughal, and local Deccan cuisines.

Mughlai cuisine significantly impacted their food. Dishes such as kebabs, kormas, and rich gravies are the testament to this influence.

The Nizams' cuisine is not just about food but also about the art of hospitality and the grandeur of their court. The lavish banquets hosted by the Nizams were legendary, reflecting their wealth and cultural sophistication.

Traditional Hyderabadi dishes are still prepared with great care and attention to detail, preserving the rich culinary heritage passed down through generations.
